For carnival, a party, or just a late night
Some evenings are full of energy. Carnival, a birthday party, a dance floor that went on longer than planned. And then there’s that quiet moment at home, when the bathroom light feels just a bit too bright and all you want is bed.
We’re based in Breda, so yes — we know carnival. But this blog isn’t just about that. It’s about something more familiar: how to bring your skin back to calm after a busy night, without turning it into a project.
The difference isn’t doing more — it’s how you do it
After a late night, your skin isn’t “difficult.” It’s just tired.
What often plays a role:
- makeup, mascara, sometimes face paint or glitter
- dry indoor air
- lack of sleep
- the urge to quickly scrub everything off
This is where irritation can start. Not because you’re doing something wrong, but because your skin often responds best to one thing: gentle, but thorough.
A gentle reset in 3 steps
No extras. Just comfort.
1) Let it dissolve first, then remove
If you’re wearing a lot of product, it helps not to rush straight into “clean.” Give your cleanser a moment.
Apply it, massage gently, and take a few extra seconds. This way, you don’t need to rub as much — especially around the eyes and nose.
2) Clean, not tight
Your skin shouldn’t feel tight after cleansing. Tightness can be a sign your barrier needs more comfort.
So choose mild products, especially on evenings when your skin has already had a lot to handle.
3) Back to neutral
After cleansing, your skin mainly wants to feel comfortable again.
A hydrating toner can be a soft step in between, especially if your skin feels dry.
Then finish with your cream. Done.
And the glitter?
Glitter is fun — until it ends up in your hairline, on your pillow, and in places you didn’t expect.
The simple rule: remove glitter with patience, not friction. Around the eyes and on drier areas, gentle is better.
The morning after
The “skin hangover” is real (and you don’t need to fight it)
You look in the mirror and your skin seems dull or a bit oilier than usual. That can happen after little sleep and a long night.
This is usually not the moment for extra steps. Often, it helps to keep things simple for a day.
Morning after a late night:
- light cleanse (or just water)
- hydrating toner if needed
- cream
- SPF
That’s usually enough. Your skin benefits most from calm and consistency.
The party can be loud. Your skincare doesn’t have to be.
Sometimes the gentlest approach is the most effective: clean, comfortable, done.
